Puffer Whiffs 15, Fort Myers Tops Stockton Wednesday, January 24th , 2046 Fort Myers Miracle starter Bud Puffer brought his best stuff to Hammond Stadium today against the Stockton Ports, striking out 15 batters in his club's 1-0 victory. In a strong performance, the 20-year-old Puffer gave up 5 hits in his 6.2 innings of work and issued no walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my curveball was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." In 8 starts this season, Puffer has picked up 6 wins while suffering 1 loss. He has pitched 55.2 innings, allowed 41 hits, struck out 72 and posted a 1.94 ERA. |
