Miracle Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Wednesday, January 24th , 2046 California Winter League pundits who figured the Round 1 between the Fort Myers Miracle and Stockton Ports would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Fort Myers coming out on top thanks to a 1-0 win in the deciding game at Hammond Stadium, to wrap things up 2-1. "You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Miracle first baseman David Campbell, who was named series MVP. For the series, Campbell had 5 hits for a .500 average. He had 0 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Division Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
