End of a Dream: Career Over for Carr
Wednesday, December 19th , 2046
"The writing was on the wall," said Sean Carr, the Potomac starting pitcher, as he announced his retirement from baseball. The 21-year-old Carr had been sidelined indefinitely with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. From the start, the prognosis was not good. Carr had a good idea he'd have to call it quits. "As much as I love this sport, I knew I'd have to give it up sooner or later."
This season Carr has worked 18.2 innings with 32 strikeouts en route to a 2-1 record and a 3.38 ERA.
