Hoover Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Monday, December 24th , 2046 Joe Hoover had an answer for everything the High Desert Mavericks threw at him today at Calvin Falwell Field. The Bradenton center fielder went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and put the Marauders on top, 8-7. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Hoover said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Joe Hoover singled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Chris Wood in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 11th. This year Hoover is batting .256 with 2 home runs and 12 RBIs. |
