Vergara Brilliant, Fans 15 Friday, July 20th , 2046 State College Spikes starter Marcos Vergara brought his best stuff to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park today against the Brooklyn Cyclones, striking out 15 batters in his club's 27-0 victory. In a strong performance, the 19-year-old Vergara gave up 1 hit in his 6 innings of work and issued 1 walk. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my changeup was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." This season Vergara has a 3-5 record with a 2.77 ERA in 14 starts. |
