Jones Fans 15 Angels Monday, July 23rd , 2046 Led by an outstanding performance from starter Darby Jones, the Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Los Angeles (NYP) Angels today by a score of 13-0 at Centennial Field. The 31-year-old Jones brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 1 hit and giving up 3 walks. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Angels manager Yerinson Tatis said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." To date this year Jones has compiled a 5-3 mark with a 2.10 ERA in 11 starts. |
