Reyna and Aldape Suspended for Free-for-All

After an intense confrontation, both the Indians Luis Reyna and the Scrappers David Aldape were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Spokane-Mahoning Valley game. Luis Reyna will miss 6 games, while David Aldape was suspended for 12 games.

"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Luis Reyna commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."

This year Reyna has batted at a .317 pace with 71 hits, 7 home runs, 48 RBIs and scored 38 times.

Aldape has compiled an ERA of 2.45 so far this season, winning 0 games with no losses and 1 save. In 9 relief appearances he has hurled 11 innings, yielded 6 hits and struck out 15. Opposing hitters have batted .167 against Aldape.
