Brooklyn Hexed: No-Hit by Palumbo
Monday, August 20th , 2046
In a dominant outing, John Palumbo of the Hillsboro Hops totally silenced the bats of the Brooklyn Cyclones, finishing with a no-hitter.

In the Hops' 16-0 victory, Palumbo faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 22 strikeouts and 2 walks.

"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Hillsboro manager David A. Wright said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."

Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Tyler Lyons had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.

"The Hops had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Palumbo pitched a heck of a ballgame."

For the season Palumbo has compiled a 8-11 record with a 4.01 ERA.
