Corkery and Molina Fight, Get Suspended
Friday, August 31st , 2046
Yesterday at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium Josh Corkery and Bobby Molina got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Tri-City ValleyCats and Minnesota (NYP) Twins. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Corkery will have to sit out 4 while Molina would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
This season Corkery is batting .201 with 68 hits, 1 home run, 29 RBIs, .291 OBP and has scored 38 runs.
This season Molina has worked 161.2 innings with 224 strikeouts en route to a 9-5 record and a 2.23 ERA.
