Great Stroke: Laurel Gets 5 Hits
Tuesday, September 11th , 2046
Auburn right fielder Antonio Laurel could do no wrong in today's 17-0 win over the Cyclones as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Cyclones skipper Tyler Lyons said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Laurel agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Antonio Laurel doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year Laurel has hit at a .413 clip with 25 RBIs, 2 home runs and 23 runs scored.
