6-for-6 Game for Kim
Friday, September 14th , 2046
After a 6-hit effort to lead Eugene's 33-0 victory over the Brooklyn Cyclones, center fielder Du Kim told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the New York-Penn League-level is really something special."
The 20-year-old player earned his accolades today at MCU Park with a spectacular 6-for-6 game against the Cyclones.
"His swing is getting there," said Emeralds skipper Seaver Whalen, who spoke glowingly of Kim after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Du did that to perfection today."
Du Kim doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
This year Kim has 8 home runs and a .265 batting average.
