Ironbirds Dominate, Sweep Round 1 Monday, October 1st , 2046 The Aberdeen Ironbirds outclassed the Vermont Lake Monsters in all facets of the game throughout the NYP Round 1. The end result was a Aberdeen series sweep to advance to the Divisional Championship, capped off by a 1-0 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said catcher Steve Jones, who hit .500 in the series. Jones's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .533 on-base percentage and had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Divisional Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
