Spokane Win Divisional Championship Wednesday, October 17th , 2046 The championship aspirations of the Spokane Indians are still alive and well, while the Aberdeen Ironbirds are left to wait until next year. Spokane won the clinching game of the Divisional Championship 3-1 over Aberdeen at Ripken Stadium, to win the series 4-2. "You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said second baseman Casey Nelligan, who paced the Spokane offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit." Nelligan claimed the MVP by racking up 7 hits for a .350 average, with a .381 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Championship finishes. |
