Rome Takes Conference Championship in Deciding Game
Thursday, November 1st , 2046
The fans in Rome are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Tri-City.
The Rome Braves finished off the Tri-City Dust Devils 3-2 in the deciding game of the Conference Championship played at State Mutual Stadium.
They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the World Series.
For his standout play, Rome third baseman Joe Young was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.
He batted .385, drove in 3 runs and scored 5 to lead his club to victory.
"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Young and that doomed us," said Dust Devils manager Zelasko Pye. "Hats off to Rome, though. That was a great series."
The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Conference Championship finishes.
