The Vancouver Canadians ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Rome Braves 8-0 to win the World Series.

Vancouver won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 11th time.

"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Vancouver manager Devlin Peyton. "It's a great feeling."

The champs finished the regular season 133-20 and claimed first place in the McNamara Division.

In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and starting pitcher Robby Granados said the Canadians have "great fans and they deserve this."

"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
