Codd Belts 3 HRs Tuesday, September 11th , 2046 In a powerful performance that left the fans at Juan Marichal Complex buzzing, Oakland (APP) Athletics left fielder D.J. Codd blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 25-0 win over the Burlington Royals. "Everything was clicking," Codd told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them." Codd shined brilliantly in the win, with 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored. "It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Athletics manager Michael Durant said. "D.J. played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game." D.J. Codd hit a two-run home run off Greg Sell in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Brett Reed in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Vance Coen in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. This season Codd is hitting .351 with 133 hits, 90 home runs, 196 RBIs, scored 184 runs and played in 99 games. |
