Great Day for Reynolds -- 5 Hits
Wednesday, September 19th , 2046
Baltimore (APP) starting pitcher Wes Reynolds could do no wrong in today's 10-8 win over the Blue Jays as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Blue Jays skipper Murray Yerzy said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Reynolds agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Wes Reynolds doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
For the season Reynolds has compiled a 11-1 record with a 3.47 ERA.
