McMillian Socks It to Mets, Cracks 5 Hits Friday, September 21st , 2046 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Eric McMillian is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Kingsport Mets at San Diego Padres Complex today. The monster effort from the 20-year-old second baseman helped the San Diego (APP) Padres take the win, 18-5. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Mets manager Ricky Caldevilla. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Eric McMillian hit a solo-shot off Jason Jones in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run triple in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. This season McMillian is batting .303 with 6 home runs. |
