Fortin Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle Friday, October 5th , 2046 John Fortin showed off his speed, his power and his plate discipline today at Kindrick Legion Field, putting together all facets of his game to hit for the cycle in the Helena win. The 21-year-old left fielder went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to help the Brewers top the Billings Mustangs by a score of 20-2. A jubilant Fortin told reporters afterward that the experience was "unimaginable." "Seriously, I would have been happy going 1-for-5 with just the double," he said. "So this feels incredible." For the day, Fortin finished with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored to go with his 4 hits. John Fortin hit a solo-shot off Jeff Buchanan in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a two-run triple in the 7th. Fortin has collected 64 hits for the Brewers this year, 13 of them home runs. He has also netted 54 RBIs and scored 68 runs while batting .308. |
