Royals Hamby Raps 3 Homers
Friday, October 5th , 2046
Phil Hamby brutalized the Pulaski Yankees pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 30-0 victory at Burlington Athletic Stadium. The Burlington Royals second baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-5 with 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
"Too much Phil Hamby today," Yankees manager Austin Hedges said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Phil Hamby hit a two-run home run off Sergio Huerta in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Loo Lei in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Alex Ramirez in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
Hamby is batting .273 this year with 21 home runs, 85 RBIs and 92 runs scored. He has 97 hits in 355 at-bats.
