Matsubara Belts Bunch of Base Hits Friday, December 8th , 2045 It was a parade of hits for Harutomi Matsubara of the Seattle (WIN) Mariners at Peoria Sports Complex today. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Matsubara finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Mariners to a 8-0 victory. "Matsubara was really good and we were really bad," groaned Orioles manager Kyle Attl. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Harutomi Matsubara doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Kevin Stewart in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Toshiyuki Funaki in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. Currently Matsubara is hitting .415 and has collected 5 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 12 times, while playing in 12 games. |
