Tampa Bay (WIN) Advances to Divisional Series Wednesday, January 24th , 2046 The Tampa Bay (WIN) Rays are heading to the Divisional Series, having narrowly defeated the Philadelphia (WIN) Phillies. Tampa Bay (WIN) edged Philadelphia (WIN) in the series 2-1, with a win at Louisville Grounds in the clinching game by a 4-3 margin. Steve French turned in a strong offensive performance for the Rays and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if French continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .400 with a .538 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
