Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Amore

At the age of 20, Mario Amore says he still has a lot to learn about life in Winter League Baseball.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Toronto (WIN) Blue Jays reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2045 Division A Reliever of the Year Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Vatican City, Vatican City native said.

For the season, Amore had 11 saves in 20 relief appearances, which totaled 27. He fanned 51 betters, while walking 5 and put up a record of 1-0 to go with his 0.67 ERA.

He received 26 first place votes out of a possible 30. Rich Reinbolt of the Asheville Tourists finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Jared Pollard of the Los Angeles (WIN) Angels finished third with 1 first place vote.
