Garciaparra Garners AL Batter of the Month Award Monday, October 1st , 2046 When Rudo Garciaparra stepped up to the plate in September he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the American League Batter of the Month award. The young Baltimore shortstop posted a .365 batting average with 10 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 24 runs. Garciaparra also worked pitchers for 16 walks to post a .460 on-base percentage. Garciaparra is batting .300 with 28 home runs and 80 RBIs this season. |
