Gaugler Slaps 5 Hits Sunday, September 2nd , 2046 5 times is the charm -- at least for Eric Gaugler. The University of California Golden Bears center fielder tore up the Ohio State University Buckeyes to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Bill Davis Stadium today. The offensive onslaught from Gaugler powered the Golden Bears to a 11-7 win. "Gaugler was a tough out today," Ohio State University manager Jimmy Jacquot said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Eric Gaugler tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Max Carter in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. Looking at his present stats, Gaugler has compiled a .232 batting average in 16 games with a .328 on-base percentage, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 5 runs. |
