Palmisano Shackles University of Illinois Saturday, December 29th , 2046 The University of Illinois Fighting Illini manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the University of Michigan Wolverines. The Fighting Illini were overpowered by University of Michigan starter Travis Palmisano, who hurled his club to victory, 6-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Larry Stefanski II said. Over 9 innings, Palmisano blanked University of Illinois on 2 hits with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Palmisano said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." To date this year Palmisano has compiled a 4-0 mark with a 1.10 ERA in 3 starts. |
