Niagara Falls-Winnipeg Brawl, de Leon and Lizarraga Suspended Friday, August 3rd , 2046 Danny de Leon of the Niagara Falls Phantoms and Jon Lizarraga of the Winnipeg Goldeyes will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 5 and 7 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Phantoms-Goldeyes game at Niagara Falls Casino & Resort. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN de Leon and Lizarraga will begin serving them soon. This season de Leon is batting .246 with 59 hits, 15 home runs, 40 RBIs, 53 walks, .391 OBP and has scored 45 runs. He has played in 68 games. In 16 starts this year Lizarraga has recorded a 6-4 record and a 4.52 ERA. |
