Simons Bewilders Blasters in 8-0 Shutout Friday, August 24th , 2046 Miami Beach Marlins pitcher Eric Simons blanked the Joplin Blasters 8-0 at Joplin Baseball Complex today, tossing a 2-hitter while issuing 2 walks and collecting 14 strikeouts. After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club. "I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Simons said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today." This season Simons has earned 0 saves, tossed 103.2 innings, made 42 relief appearances, fanned 138 hitters and posted an ERA of 6.60. Teams are hitting .253 against him. |
