Nelson Fires Shutout in Amarillo Victory Tuesday, September 18th , 2046 It wasn't easy but Marty Nelson made it look that way. Nelson silenced the Palm Beach Nationals, 12-0, in a Amarillo ThunderHeads triumph at Ballpark of Amarillo today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Nelson said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 3 walks and 2 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." So far this season Nelson has a record of 7-1 with 77 strikeouts and 27 walks in 76 innings and a 4.03 ERA. |
