Ruckus Reaps 4-Game Suspensions Friday, October 12th , 2046 At a recent Oaks-ThunderHeads contest at Oakland Oaks Grounds, Walt Alaniz of Oakland took exception to what Javier Chavez of Amarillo said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players. Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 4 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct." So far this year Alaniz is hitting .350 with 14 home runs. This season Chavez has been credited with 1 save in 29 relief appearances. In 57.2 innings he has a 3-1 won-lost mark, 4.06 ERA and 52 strikeouts |
