3-Homer Hat Trick for Reyes
Monday, October 15th , 2046
Amarillo ThunderHeads left fielder Eddie Reyes put on a dazzling display of power today at Ballpark of Amarillo against the Tijuana Toros. In the 8-4 ThunderHeads victory Reyes penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Tijuana manager Glenn Lovell said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Reyes said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Eddie Reyes flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Yok-sing Zhào in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Yok-sing Zhào in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Balinda Msrah in the 8th.
This season Reyes has hit 33 home runs and posted a .269 batting average.
