Cornhuskers Arevalo No-Hits Black Bears
Monday, November 19th , 2046
In a dominant outing, Santos Arevalo of the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers totally silenced the bats of the University of Maine Black Bears, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Cornhuskers' 5-0 victory, Arevalo faced only 27 batters, surrendered no hits, had 15 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," University of Nebraska manager Billy Vopinek said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Nick Klouser told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Cornhuskers had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Arevalo pitched a heck of a ballgame."
To date this season Arevalo sports a 3-4 mark with a 1.28 ERA in 1 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .110 batting average and has 63 strikeouts in 49.1 innings.
