Big Day with Bat: Ishigaki 5-for-5
Monday, December 24th , 2046
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Coastal Carolina University's 1-0 win over University of Southern California today, second baseman Tatsunori Ishigaki was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Springs Brooks Stadium.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Ishigaki said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Tatsunori Ishigaki singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 10th and doubled in the 13th.
This season Ishigaki is hitting .242 with 69 hits, 8 home runs, 12 RBIs, scored 37 runs and played in 97 games.
