Gonzalez Hits for the Cycle
Getting 4 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Eddie Gonzalez's day was a special one.

The center fielder hit for the cycle to spark the Idaho Falls Chukars to a 18-7 victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium today. Idaho Falls manager Michael Petersen said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Gonzalez in particular.

"Eddie caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it."

For the day, Gonzalez finished with 7 RBI and 1 run scored to go with his 4 hits.

Eddie Gonzalez grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Marty Jackson in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.

This season Gonzalez has hit at a .270 clip with 13 RBIs, 2 home runs and 4 runs scored.
