Matsumoto Baffles Americus Batters
Yorinobu Matsumoto shut out the Americus Braves 2-0 on a 3-hit masterpiece for the Palm Beach Nationals at Palm Beach Ballpark today.

"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Palm Beach skipper Clancy Wilkins said afterward.

Matsumoto registered 13 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in pitching a gem.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Americus manager Jaime Krempa after the defeat.

To date, his season stats show Matsumoto has 1 save with a 3-4 mark and 3.67 ERA.
