Mud Hens End Rupert's Streak Monday, May 20th , 2047 It was a doubly miserable day today for Justin Rupert of the Omaha Storm Chasers, as he saw his 21-game hitting streak end and his team lose 5-1 to the Toledo Mud Hens at Werner Park. The 25-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Mud Hens. "Anyone on a 21-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Toledo manager Pheart Hed said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." In the current season, Rupert has put up a .270 batting average with 47 hits, 7 home runs, 20 RBI and scored 21 runs. |
