Franklin, on Top of His Game, Beats Fresno, 5-0 Sunday, July 21st , 2047 In an outstanding mound performance, Toledo Mud Hens starter Caleb Franklin fired a complete-game shutout against the Fresno Grizzlies at Fifth Third Field today. Franklin was the key to the Mud Hens's 5-0 win. The 26-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 3 hits and no walks he allowed. "3 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." Checking out his stats for the season, Franklin has racked up 7 wins and 9 losses in 20 starts, 3.37 ERA and struck out 92 batters in 131 innings. |
