Long Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, September 10th , 2047 Jeff Long ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Smith's Ballpark, when he collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Salt Lake Bees dropped the game, 9-1, to the Nashville Sounds. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Long said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Jeff Long flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Long is batting .232 this season in 123 games with 4 home runs, 44 RBIs and 45 runs scored. He has 105 hits in 453 at-bats. |
