Sounds End Long's Streak Thursday, September 12th , 2047 The Nashville Sounds pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Jeff Long hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 6-1 victory over the Salt Lake Bees at Smith's Ballpark. The disappointing performance ended a 21-game hitting streak for the second baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Long said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." To date this season Long is hitting .230 with 4 home runs. |
