Memphis Advances to Conference Championship Tuesday, October 8th , 2047 The Memphis Redbirds are bound for the Conference Championship. A 3-2 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs at AutoZone Park ended the Division Championship, 4-1. "We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Jason Gee. "This could be the biggest celebration Memphis has ever seen if we can win the World Series." The state of the International League championship remains in doubt, but the Redbirds certainly appear to be strong contenders. Gee was named MVP of the Division Championship after he posted a .385 batting average, while adding 1 home runs, driving in 1 RBI and scoring 4 runs. The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes. |
