Meulenkamp Hot, Thunder Cold Saturday, July 27th , 2047 It wasn't easy but Elroy Meulenkamp made it look that way. Meulenkamp silenced the Trenton Thunder, 8-0, in a Corpus Christi Hooks triumph at Arm & Hammer Park today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Meulenkamp said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 1 walk and 7 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." To date this year, he has registered no saves, 8 wins and 5 losses with a 2.73 ERA. Meulenkamp has made 12 relief appearances, worked a total of 108.2 innings and surrendered 92 hits. He has fanned 101, issued 26 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .229 batting average. |
