Larson Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Sunday, September 1st , 2047 Bobby Larson was at the head of a Corpus Christi hit parade today at Whataburger Field. The first baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Hooks to a 16-6 victory over the Jackson Generals. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Larson told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Generals skipper Adam Watkins said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Bobby Larson hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ben Burton in the 7th and doubled in the 8th. So far this year Larson is batting .279 with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored. |
