Rich Shuts Out Columbia, 5-0 Thursday, September 12th , 2047 It wasn't easy but Shelby Rich made it look that way. Rich silenced the Columbia Fireflies, 5-0, in a Mobile BayBears triumph at Spirit Communications Park today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Rich said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up no walks and 7 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." Up to now Rich has recorded a record of 6-10. In 22 starts he has fanned 71 batters in 141.2 innings with a 3.30 ERA. |
