Midland's Santiago Acclaimed Best AL Hitter Tuesday, October 1st , 2047 When Robert Santiago stepped up to the plate in September he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the American League Batter of the Month award. The young Midland shortstop posted a .385 batting average with 1 home run, 20 RBIs and scored 17 runs. Santiago also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .467 on-base percentage.
