Valles Goes 5-for-5 Against Tampa Tuesday, January 15th , 2047 All game long, High Desert's Andres Valles was rattling the walls at Stater Bros. Stadium and banging out base hits against the Tampa Yankees. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Mavericks had a 18-5 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 29-year-old designated hitter said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Andres Valles singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ferrie Werkhoven in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Greg Ritchie in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Lee Durbin in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. This season Valles is hitting .236 with 11 home runs. |
