High Desert Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game Thursday, January 17th , 2047 The High Desert Mavericks and Tampa Yankees put on a classic Round 1 that was in question until the final game. In the end, High Desert won the deciding contest by a score of 7-1, to take the series 2-1. "It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Andres Valles, who earned series MVP honors for High Desert. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now." For the series, Valles hit .538 with a .538 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Division Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
