Mavericks Dominate, Sweep Championship Series Saturday, January 26th , 2047 Nick Solberg said he expected the Championship Series to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the High Desert Mavericks encountered little resistance in sweeping the Stockton Ports, to advance to the World Series. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Solberg. High Desert won the final game by a 7-5 count and were led in the series by Solberg, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .429 with 2 home runs. He also drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs. The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Championship Series finishes. |
