Kevin Whitenack, first baseman for the Potomac Nationals, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 3 hits in his club's 11-5 victory today over the St. Lucie Mets at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium today.
"I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Kevin Whitenack walked in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
For the year Whitenack has hit at a .328 clip with 22 RBIs, 4 home runs and 23 runs scored.
