League Takes Action, Starmans Suspended
Thursday, January 10th , 2047
Louwe Starmans of the Tampa Yankees has been reprimanded and given a 2-game suspension for a shouting match with the plate umpire during a recent game at Roger Dean Stadium with the Jupiter Hammerheads. The Yankees third baseman said he didn't touch the umpire, but the umpire insisted he did.
"I didn't see it, I didn't feel it," Starmans said. "I was trying everything I could not to make contact with him. The league always sides with umpires. There is no use to appeal."
To date Starmans has chalked up a .129 average with 3 home runs, driven in 11 runs and scored 7 times.
