Lugnuts, Walsh Stonewall Burlington, 4-0 Sunday, May 19th , 2047 "Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage. Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting. Cody Walsh of the Lansing Lugnuts proved the point at Cooley Law School Stadium today, holding the Burlington Bees to 7 hits in a complete game shutout victory. "Walsh made us look real bad today," Bees manager Alex Young said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking." Walsh had 6 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks as the Lugnuts took the 4-0 win. This year Walsh has a 5-0 record with a 1.17 ERA. |
